Why We're Here
As a film enthusiast, I have noticed that films of recent years have become re-packaged. Lacking originality, depth, and P.O.C inclusion. Audiences are being fed mediocrity to the point in which it is now widely accepted and unopposed. A Dark Phoenix Productions intends to showcase projects that explore originality, character development and nuanced personalities as well as stories told through the lens of varying backgrounds, race and culture. I want true diversity to shine in a natural light both in front of and behind the camera. With a wide range of stories to be told, I want to be able to give them the exposure they have longed for.
Meet the Founder
Viola Clifton knew from young, that her future would involve some aspect of film. Like most people, life threw a few curve balls but in Spring of 2021, it brought her to Queens College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Film Studies. She is an actor, writer, poet, director, and editor.
